YouTuber Hassan Campbell was filmed near his New York City apartment during a live stream

New York City, New York: YouTuber Hassan Campbell was shot and killed in broad daylight while live streaming near an apartment building in New York City.

Hassan Campbell, known for his commentary on pop culture trends and news stories with 450,000 YouTube subscribers, took himself to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder, police said.

Hassan Campbell was once accused of abusing DJ Afrika Bambaataa

In 2016, The Sun reported that Campbell attracted attention by accusing DJ Afrika Bambaataa of sexually abusing her during her childhood.

He was part of a group of Bronx men who accused Bambata of abuse. The rapper and producer rose to fame for introducing an electric style to the hip-hop scene in the 1980s.

Campbell accuses Bambaataa of “perversion” of favoring the “little boys”.

66-year-old Bambata has consistently denied all the allegations and as of now, no charges have been filed against him.

On Sunday morning, Campbell went live to discuss Cassie’s lawsuit against hip-hop legend Sean Diddy Combs.



In the lawsuit, Cassie, who was in a relationship with Diddy from 2007 to 2018, claims she endured years of abuse from the rapper. She claims he supplies her with drugs and records her encounters with male prostitutes.

He said on the live stream that his alleged experiences didn’t go viral because “nobody gives a (sic) af*** about kids in the hood.”

“I totally disrespect the industry… what are you all telling me? Is my life and my pain worth nothing?” he said in the video.

He was also seen getting into an altercation with someone in the apartment, who seemed to throw stones or objects at him, fueling his anger.

He was yelling and screaming again and again challenging her to come out.

Campbell was shot in the shoulder and taken to the hospital

As the stream continued, he began to shout openly and challenge anyone to fight him as residents marched around the square.

The video suddenly cuts to him sitting in the back of a car, asking the driver to urgently take him to the hospital.

“I gotta get to the hospital quick. I gotta get to the hospital, I got shot, son,” he can be heard saying.



The New York City Police Department confirmed to the Sun that Campbell was shot once in the shoulder and took himself to the hospital.

In a post on his YouTube channel, he mentioned that he is undergoing surgery and hopes to recover. The police have not yet identified the suspect responsible for the shooting.
